Fencing Fun with Girl Scouts - Bozeman (Grades K-3)
This fencing program will introduce Girl Scouts to basic fencing form, skills, timing, and tactics. Girls will develop their flexibility, strength, and decision-making skills in a fun way. Fencing is a game of physical chess that allows fencers to play and compete individually in a supportive group setting.
Rooted in the European middle ages, yet thriving in the 21st century, fencing is a life-long sport with opportunities for competition, fitness, fun, and community for all ages. Fencing involves skills, strategy, and self-discipline as well as the support and encouragement of the group. Fencing teaches problem solving, honesty, fair play, and resilience. It builds strength, flexibility and self-confidence.
Thanks to well-designed and modern blades and protective gear, fencing is extremely safe with lower rates of injury than virtually any other team or individual sport.
Our program partners will provide all necessary fencing equipment. Participants will receive a fun patch.
Registration for this event is $12 per girl and closes on May 22nd.
After May 22nd, your program registration is non-refundable.
