Spring Spruce & Outdoor Cookout Training - Cheyenne (Grades K-12 & Adults)

As Girl Scouts, we strive to make the world a better place. To help fulfill our mission, GSMW invites all community-minded Girl Scouts, their troops, and families to participate in our council-wide Spring Spruce.  Together, girls, troops, and families will see first-hand the tremendously positive effects of community service.

Girl Scouts from around southeast Wyoming will meet at Camp Carefree to get camp ready for the upcoming season and connect to their Girl Scout community. There will be a variety of camp projects suitable for anyone willing to help! Please let us know if you have any specific skills that would be helpful!

Starting at 1:00PM we will work on projects around camp, and once work projects are complete, we will enjoy a campfire-cooked dinner to say thank you for all your help! If you cannot be there for the entire time, communicate with the program facilitator prior to the event. At all times, children must be accompanied by an adult.  Troops must follow required adult-to-girl ratios.

In conjunction with the work day, GSMW will offer our OUTDOOR COOKOUT TRAINING for adult volunteers! In conjunction with a two-part online Outdoor Training, the Outdoor Cookout Training is required to take girls on hikes, camp-outs, and cookouts. Participating volunteers will learn the ropes of outdoor cooking and other outdoor skills while preparing dinner for the whole crew! Adult Outdoor Cookout Training participants can expect to be busy until 5:30pm. Look for the $6 Add-On option during registration.

At the start of the event, all registered participants will receive a GSMW trucker cap.  At the end, child participants will also receive a GSMW Spring Spruce fun patch to commemorate our Sisterhood's momentous effort to benefit our communities.

In a confirmation email before the event, GSMW will send participants the exact details including location, project goals, and a supply list.

If the date, time, or location for this community service event doesn't work for your group, plan a Spring Spruce day with your troop, household, or service unit.  Your independent group can purchase the hats and the patches through this form:  Spring Spruce Independent Group Form.  Independent Spring Spruce events must occur in June.  Email customercare@gsmw.org with questions about independent Spring Spruce events.

Registration for this event is $12 per participant and closes on May 15th.
After May 15th, your program registration is non-refundable.
