Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Spring Meadow Lake - Helena (Grades K-12)

Across the country, Girl Scouts are building skills and making lasting memories as they discover the the beauty, history, and adventure waiting in their state parks. Venture outside with GSMW, and join this nationwide Girl Scout movement!

At Spring Meadow Lake State Park, Girl Scouts will become real citizen scientists as they search for birds along the park's trails. After learning the basics of bird identification and why bird monitoring matters, they'll head out to observe and record the birds they find.

Once home girls will upload their findings to eBird, where their observations become part of a worldwide database used by birders, researchers, and conservationists. It's a fun and meaningful way to sharpen observation skills, explore nature, and contribute to real scientific research.

All participating girls will receive a Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch. Each Girl Scout must be accompanied by an adult while exploring the park. Girl Scouts, their parents, and their friends and family are invited to this special event!

Don't forget about GSUSA's Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge. Attend this program and you'll earn points toward the annual fun patch. 

Registration for this event is $8 per girl and closes on September 6th.
After September 6th, your program registration is non-refundable.
