Girl Scouts Love State Parks Campout: Keyhole - Moorcroft (Grades K-12)
Across the country, Girl Scouts are building skills and making lasting memories as they discover the beauty, history, and adventure waiting in their state parks. Venture outside with GSMW, and join this nationwide Girl Scout movement!
Join us for a fun-filled camping weekend at Cottonwood Campground in Keyhole State Park from September 11–13! Girl Scouts and their families will spend the weekend exploring the park alongside a Wyoming State Parks ranger, discovering the plants, animals, geology, and ecosystems that make this special place unique.
Throughout the weekend, Girl Scouts will enjoy hands on activities and outdoor adventures. We'll kick things off by making pine cone bird feeders to hang along the trails before our Saturday bird hike, where participants will practice observing nature by looking and listening for birds, insects, and other wildlife. Girls will also learn basic compass and orienteering skills on a special course around camp, explore the fascinating world of local bats and owls during evening programs (including a possible owl pellet activity for Girl Scouts), and wrap up the weekend by discovering the critters that live in the lake during a fun hike to the water's edge.
Unless otherwise noted, activities are open to the whole family. Whether you camp all weekend or join us for just the activities that fit your schedule, this event is a wonderful opportunity to explore nature, learn from a park ranger, and make lasting Girl Scout memories together.
