Confident Moves: Girl Scouts Self-Defense - Gillette (Grades K-12)

Confident Moves: Girl Scouts Self-Defense is an engaging, hands-on program designed to help Girl Scouts develop confidence, personal safety awareness, and age-appropriate self-defense skills through the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Participants will learn how to recognize unsafe situations, set healthy boundaries, use their voices with confidence, and practice simple techniques that emphasize leverage, balance, and escaping from common holds rather than relying on strength.

Throughout the program, girls will participate in fun games, partner activities, and certified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor-led demonstrations that build teamwork, respect, discipline, and resilience. They will also explore the importance of situational awareness, decision-making under pressure, and knowing when to seek help from trusted adults.

Whether they're stepping onto the mat for the first time or simply looking to grow their confidence, every Girl Scout will leave feeling stronger, more prepared, and empowered with valuable life skills that extend far beyond self-defense.

Girls will enjoy a small snack after the class and receive a participation patch. Volunteers and adults are encouraged to register to participate with their Girl Scout. Due to limited space, no friends or tag-a-longs please.

Registration for this event is $5 per girl and closes on September 21st.
After September 21st, your program registration is non-refundable.
